It is with profound sadness that we share the untimely passing of Sergeant Major Anders T. Johansson, a devoted husband, father, friend, and U.S. Army Special Operations Soldier.
A dedicated veteran and cherished friend, Sergeant Major Anders T. Johansson embodied the courage, sacrifice, and strength that define our nation’s heroes. He tragically lost his life in a single-car accident on the evening of December 26, 2024.
As we mourn this profound loss, we remain committed to supporting those left behind. Sergeant Major Johansson made countless sacrifices for his family, friends, and our Nation. Now, it is our turn to honor his legacy by standing in support of his family during this challenging time. Combat Warriors Inc. has launched a fundraiser to assist Johansson’s family during this challenging time. Funds raised will provide financial relief, ensuring the family has the support they need to navigate this difficult period.
The Impact of Loss
Sergeant Major Johansson's untimely passing has left a tremendous void in the lives of his family. His 16-year-old son, who was also in the vehicle, suffered severe injuries. He was airlifted to a nearby trauma center and is currently receiving ongoing care. Sergeant Major Johansson’s wife, Sarah, is now faced with the vital task of making critical medical decisions and raising their four children without the support of her beloved husband. The emotional and financial burden of this loss is immense.
Sergeant Major Anders T. Johansson
Sergeant Major Anders Johansson proudly served his country for over two decades, enlisting as an infantryman in 2003. His unwavering dedication to duty saw him rise through the ranks within 2nd Battalion, 7th Special Forces Group as a Special Forces Engineer Sergeant and then within the United States Army Special Operations Command, where he held numerous leadership positions.
His bravery and commitment were recognized with numerous awards and badges, including a Silver Star, a Purple Heart, eight Bronze Stars, and was posthumously awarded the Legion of Merit. Sergeant Major Johansson bravely deployed on multiple occasions in support of combat operations during Operation ENDURING FREEDOM, Operation NEW DAWN, Operation IRAQI FREEDOM, and Operation INHERENT RESOLVE.
Beyond his military service, Sergeant Major Johansson was married to his loving wife, Sarah. Together, they built a beautiful life filled with laughter and love. They were blessed with four children: Anders, Gunnar, Arete and Eowyn who will forever cherish their father’s memory.
Sergeant Major Johansson will be remembered for his strength, courage, and unwavering devotion to his family and country. His legacy of service and sacrifice will continue to inspire generations to come.
